MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) is launching a campaign to encourage passengers to mind safety when riding a train.
To be in place for one year, the “Be Train Smart” campaign will focus on a new safety topic every two months. Among them: platforms, children onboard trains, doors, grade crossings and escalators/stairs.
LIRR plans to use posters, brochures, announcements and advertisements onboard trains and in stations to promote the campaign.
