MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) plans to continue its "Customer Conversations" forums next month.Held across the railroad's service territory, the forums are part of LIRR's efforts to maintain dialogue with customers about service and progress on major initiatives, said LIRR President Phil Eng in a press release. The next forums are scheduled for Feb. 6 in Hicksville and Feb. 13 in Wyandanch, New York. Dates and locations for meetings in Queens, Brooklyn and Manhattan will be announced in the coming weeks, LIRR officials said.Daily commuters, leisure travelers, community members and stakeholders are encouraged to attend the forums and engage in constructive discussions with LIRR's senior officials, Eng said. The officials include experts from various LIRR departments, including service planning, stations, maintenance of equipment, transportation, and engineering. "These forums are a chance for customers to speak face to face with senior LIRR staff, including myself, who are responsible for delivering the service customers not only expect, but deserve," said Eng. "We look forward to continue listening to customers and hearing their feedback, ideas and concerns, and want them to know we are taking several strategic actions to improve." After he was appointed president in April 2018, Eng met with customers at events held at four LIRR stations before launching Customer Conversations. To supplement the forums, "Meet Your Manager" events were launched in July 2018.At those events, LIRR branch line managers — and at times, Eng and senior staff members — meet with customers. To date, LIRR has conducted nearly 100 Meet Your Manager events.
