LIRR to break ground on 'green' train wash facility

Today, MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) plans to break ground on the Babylon Train Wash Facility.
The facility’s design includes several sustainable features, including its architecture and structure, HVAC, plumbing, wash equipment and renewable energy systems.
The project is funded by $25.5 million in federal American Recovery and Reinvestment Act stimulus dollars.
