advertisement
Yesterday, MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) launched a major renovation project at Seaford Station on the Babylon Branch.
The $14 million project calls for building a new 12-car concrete platform and a new platform-level waiting room, and installing a new elevator, escalator, stairs, and public-address system.
Scheduled to be complete by 2009’s end, the project will be completed in two phases; the first phase includes demolishing and reconstructing the eastern half of the platform and the second phase includes reconstructing the western portion.
