LIRR to upgrade Queens Interlocking

In June, MTA Long Island Rail Road will begin upgrading the Queens Interlocking, where the busy Main Line and Hempstead Branch merge.
The $60.4 million, 10-week project calls for replacing the current signal system with microprocessor technology and reconfiguring track to feature high-speed crossover switches.
