LIRR's morning on-time performance reaches new high in April

In April, MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) posted on-time performance (OTP) during the morning peak of 98.3 percent, its best mark since modern recordkeeping began in 1979. The OTP bested the previous morning peak record of 97.4 percent set in May and July 2005. The overall monthly OTP of 96 percent reached its second-highest level since 1979.
Last year, LIRR achieved its best-ever overall OTP of 94.1 percent.
