Laney joins Amtrak board

Amtrak's made it official: Dallas attorney David Laney is now a member of the national passenger railroad's board.
Nominated by President George W. Bush in May, Laney replaces Tommy Thompson, who resigned his board position last year after he was appointed U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services.
From 1995 to 2001, Laney served as a member of the Texas Transportation Commission, acting as chairman for five years. He also served as a member of the Texas Finance Commission from 1989 to 1995.
