Las Vegas Railway Express prepares for rail-car delivery, signs storage agreement

Las Vegas Railway Express Inc. (X Train) soon will take delivery of the first two "Club X Train" rail cars.

The units are the first of 20 rail cars being outfitted to provide "luxury passenger service" that includes catered food, beverages and concierge service, according to a press release. The cars will be coupled to existing passenger trains on select routes. In February, X Train officials plan to launch a luxury service between Los Angeles and San Diego. The firm plans to expand to other routes in the future, including Los Angeles to Las Vegas.

Meanwhile, X Train officials recently signed a rail-car storage agreement with XTREME Manufacturing L.L.C., a Las Vegas-based engineering, fabrication and assembly company.

Since initially proposing to operate the passenger-rail service several years ago, Las Vegas Railway Express has expanded to offer rail travel agency services, rail-car building, and special event private rail-car operations, according to a press release.
