The Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s (LACMTA) Metro rail and bus services are making passengers’ grade of late. A recent survey of more than 15,000 riders shows that 85 percent of the respondents either agreed or strongly agreed that they are satisfied with the services vs. 15 percent who disagreed.
Conducted by The Applied Management and Planning Group, the survey also shows that about 79 percent of the respondents believed that the Metro rail/bus system is better today than it was a year ago.
In an onboard survey conducted in spring 2008, 83 percent of the respondents either agreed or strongly agreed that they were satisfied with rail and bus services.
In terms of on-time performance, the latest survey shows 76 percent of the respondents said their train or bus generally was on time and 72 percent believed train stations and bus stops were clean. In addition, about 80 percent of the respondents said they use the Metro system primarily to commute to and from work.
