Legislation to help fund Northstar Corridor
advertisement
Minnesota House lawmakers recently introduced legislation that would provide $123.2 million in low-interest state bonding for the Northstar Commuter Rail line.
When matched with local funding, the bill also would enable the state to apply for $151 million in federal transit construction funds.
The bill has been referred to the state’s Committee on Transportation and Finance.
The Northstar Corridor would travel 82 miles from Rice to St. Cloud Minn., which is the state’s fastest-growing and most congested region, according to a prepared statement.
