MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) recently contracted MRO Software Inc. to provide its MAXIMO® Transportation asset-management software, which the agency will use to manage right-of-way assets, rolling stock, non-revenue fleet and information technology equipment.
MAXIMO features modules for industry codes, work order tracking, labor collection, meter history, inventory, material requirements planning, component movement and warranty tracking.
LIRR will use the software to integrate maintenance activities with long-term capital asset planning and procurement. The integration will help the agency meet financial targets, plan long-range capital investments, and improve rail infrastructure and service, according to a prepared statement.
