The Canyon Spirit, formerly known as the Rocky Mountaineer, is expanding its Rockies to the Red Rocks route to include Salt Lake City, Utah, in 2026, the luxury passenger train service announced yesterday.

The expanded route will connect Denver with Salt Lake City over three scenic travel days, company officials said in a press release.

Since 2021, the company has provided passengers with train journeys through the American Southwest to view landscapes that include rugged river canyons, red rock formations and the Colorado River. The company recently changed its name to Canyon Spirit.

The new three-day train journey will include overnight stops in Glenwood Springs, Colorado, and Moab, Utah. The Salt Lake City route will operate in addition to the existing two-day Rockies to the Red Rocks route, between Denver and Moab.
