The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) is seeking public input on some of the interior features of a new fleet of rail cars, the first of which will arrive in metro Atlanta in 2023.

While some interior elements have been selected, there are a variety of design solutions for other elements, MARTA officials said in a new release.

The public can weigh in on the MARTA homepage or on the agency's social media pages. Participants can vote on options for seating, luggage storage, bike areas, maps/wayfinding, handrails/stanchions and Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility features. In the coming months, MARTA plans to seek public input on the cars' exterior elements.

In November 2019, the agency ordered 254 cars from Stadler US for $646 million, representing the single largest procurement for either party.
