The Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) will host a series of citywide "listening sessions" to seek residents' opinions on future expansion of transit and bus services for their opinions on the potential expansion of transit services. The first meetings will be held Tuesday through Thursday, with additional sessions scheduled for March 21-23, MARTA announced late last week.Attendees will be asked to share ideas on MARTA's future expansion and service enhancement projects resulting from last fall's half-penny tax referendum. In November, Atlanta area voters passed a 0.5 percent sales tax that will generate about $2.5 billion over 40 years that will be spent on MARTA high-capacity rail improvements, new infill rail stations and bus expansion.
