MBTA to rehab Merrimack River bridge
advertisement
Last week, the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) board approved a $3 million contract as part of a project to repair and rehabilitate the Merrimack River Bridge.
Commuter-rail trains run over the bridge seven days a week. The structure is the only one in the MBTA system that features a similar deck truss design as the bridge that collapsed in Minneapolis last summer. The project is expected to take about four years to complete.
