Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA) recently completed a $3.4 million renovation project at the Gloucester commuter-rail station.

The authority added 100 parking spaces, and improved pedestrian and vehicular access, lighting, signage, fencing, draining and landscaping. MBTA also built a pedestrian crosswalk with a train approach warning system, which features strobe lights, horns and light-emitting diode signs designed to warn pedestrians of approaching trains.
