METRO seeks transit alternatives in high-traffic area
advertisement
Houston’s Metropolitan Transit Authority of Harris County (METRO) is seeking public input on findings from an Uptown-West Loop Planning Study, which analyzed transit alternatives for the city’s high-traffic area.
A public hearing is scheduled for March 20 to review transit options — including a light-rail system — and neighborhood and economic impacts.
METRO wants to implement a regional transit plan to reduce traffic congestion and improve air quality. Findings from the study would be used to help the agency develop a long-range plan. In April, METRO expects to present a draft plan; a final plan might be adopted in July.
