The Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) recently announced that the first "Customers Count and COVID Travel Survey" of 2021 is now available for riders to complete.
The survey is seeking feedback on the rider experience for subway, bus, Staten Island Railway and paratransit services.
The survey covers topics ranging from wait times to station cleanliness, to safety concerns. The survey has taken on a new meaning in the midst of the COVID-19 pandemic as the authority has undertaken unprecedented measures to keep customers safe, MTA officials said in a press release.
Meanwhile, the MTA has responded to a recent increase in attacks against Asians by updating its anti-hate public messaging campaign with ads designed to help combat hate crimes against Asians.
In partnership with the New York Police Department (NYPD), the MTA has created anti-hate public service advertisements in Chinese, Korean and English that warn against targeting Asian New Yorkers and advise those with tips about possible hate crimes to contact the NYPD Asian Hate Crimes Task Force.
The ads will appear in stations throughout the system, with particular emphasis on neighborhoods with high concentrations of Asian and Asian American transit users.
