advertisement
On Feb. 11, the Maryland Transit Administration will expand service on the MARC Penn Line. The expansion is the first installment of the MARC Growth and Investment Plan, a multi-phased, multi-year program designed to triple capacity of the commuter-rail system.
The agency plans to add a northbound train leaving Washington, D.C., at 5:10 p.m. and arriving at Baltimore’s Penn Station at 6:01 p.m.; a southbound train leaving Penn Station at 10:30 p.m. and arriving in Washington at 11:30 p.m.; and a northbound train leaving Washington, D.C. at 11:45 p.m. and arriving at Penn Station at 12:40 a.m.
The state of Maryland will provide $6 million to cover the service expansion costs.
