Memphis Medical Center Rail Extension gets federal funding shot in the arm

Memphis Area Transit Authority Dec. 12 received $59.7 million in Federal Transit Administration funds for its $74.6 million Medical Center Rail Extension.
The project includes plans to construct a 2.5-mile, six-station light rail line connecting the medical center area to Memphis’ Main Street Trolley/Riverfront Loop rail system in the central business district.
