advertisement
Last week, Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp. (Metra) began the second phase of a new depot at the Glen of North Glenview stop on the railroad’s Milwaukee District North Line.
The $3.8 million project includes building a 2,800-square-foot depot, 300 parking spaces and a landscaped entry plaza, and extending 215-foot brick-paved platforms. The depot will include vendor space, canopied waiting areas, covered bicycle facilities and decorative lighting, according to a prepared statement.
Metra plans to complete construction next summer. The depot’s first phase included a warming house, shelter and parking lot.
