Metra schedules new stop on Milwaukee North line

Northeast Illinois Regional Commuter Railroad Corp. (Metra) recently revised its Milwaukee North schedule, creating a new stop at Prairie Crossing in Libertyville, Ill.

The stop includes a 380-foot lighted platform, 400 parking spaces and a temporary station office. The additional parking is expected to relieve limited capacity at the downtown Libertyville and Grayslake stations, where parking expansion is restricted.

Metra eventually plans to build a permanent station and attract some commercial development at the site.
