Next month, Metra plans to launch a bridge/retaining wall construction project on the Union Pacific North Line.

The $185 million, two-phased project calls for replacing 22 bridges on Chicago’s north side. Under the first phase, 11 bridges will be replaced between Grace Avenue and Balmoral Street; under the second phase, 11 more bridges will be replaced between Fullerton Avenue and Cornelia Street.

The project is scheduled for completion by 2018’s end.
