Metra to host second annual vendor fair in August

Metra will host its second annual "On Track to Success" vendor fair Aug. 22 at the Illinois Institute of Technology in Chicago.

The event will provide contracting information to current and prospective Metra vendors.

Metra's Office of Business Diversity and Civil Rights will host the fair, which will feature a panel discussion on what Metra's prime contractors look for when selecting disadvantaged business enterprise (DBE) firms for subcontracts.

"We also plan to recognize the many community organizations that have promoted Metra’s business diversity and outreach initiatives and helped us get the word out about our agency’s contract opportunities," said Metra Executive Director and Chief Executive Officer Don Orseno.

Over the past 30 years, Metra's DBE program has sponsored and taken part in hundreds of workshops, training sessions and exhibitor fairs aimed at providing opportunities for small firms.
