MTA Metro-North Railroad later this month will kick off a $94 million project to rehab its station in White Plains, New York.

Slated to begin March 18, the work includes improving station entrances, adding signage, installing LED lighting, and providing Wi-Fi and cellular connectivity.

Inside the station, crews will install new wall panels, ceiling tiles and fixtures. The entire project is slated to take three years to complete, Metro-North officials said in a press release.

The White Plains Station is located on two-track territory on the Harlem Line. For the duration of the project, one of the two tracks near the station will be removed from service during off-peak and weekend hours to give construction crews access to the platforms.

While the first phase of improvements is underway, Metro-North crews also will rehabilitate track between Scarsdale and Hartsdale, New York. That work will lay the foundation for plans to begin refurbishing the Metro-North stations in those towns.

In addition, crews will replace switches between the Brewster and Southeast stations.
