MTA Metro-North Railroad plans to open Fairfield Metro Station, the newest station on the New Haven Line, in fall.
In addition, the Connecticut Department of Transportation recently determined the station will be in the same fare zone as Fairfield’s other two stations. As required by law, Metro-North, which operates the New Haven Line, will solicit public comments on the proposed $14.25 one-way fare on Aug. 1.
The facility will be the first new station on the New Haven Line in a century, Metro-North officials said in a prepared statement.
