MTA Metro-North Railroad plans to upgrade parking lots at the Cold Spring, Beacon and New Hamburg stations on the Hudson Line this month and in September.

The upgrades will include better drainage, new pavement and pavement markings, and safety enhancements. Temporary closings and parking restrictions will be necessary as work proceeds, Metro-North officials said in a newsrelease.

LAZ — the railroad's parking operator — will honor existing parking permits for Cold Spring Station users at the Beacon and Garrison stations. Riders that use the meters at Cold Spring also will be able to use the meters at Beacon and Garrison.

Meanwhile, the Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) has opened a 683-space garage for MTA Long Island Rail Road (LIRR) at Westbury Station.

The garage is a key component of the LIRR Expansion Project, MTA officials said. Renovations at Westbury Station — which are expected to be completed in fall 2022 — include a platform replacement to accommodate a third track, new platform canopies, the addition of CCTV security cameras, and the extension of a pedestrian tunnel, ADA ramps and elevators.
