Metro-North extends online ticket fulfillment contract
advertisement
Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Metro-North Railroad extended its contract with Marshall & Ilsley Corp. subsidiary Metavante Corp. for turnkey transit pass fulfillment for its new online WebTicket Program.
Internet-enabled WebTicket is designed to enable customers to purchase tickets online for secure delivery to home or office. In the program’s first eight months, 12,600 tickets have been purchased online.
Metro-North daily electronically transmits Metavante online order information received in the previous 24 hours. Metavante personnel then personalize tickets and fold them into letters, which are sealed and mailed to the commuter the same day orders are received.
The company consistently delivers tickets within three to five business days at no extra charge, said Genevieve Firnhaber, Metro-North executive vice president, in a prepared statement.
