Metrolink and Thousand Oaks Transit yesterday launched a new shuttle service between the city of Thousand Oaks and Metrolink's Moorpark Station in the Los Angeles area.

The shuttle will provide round-trip shuttle service between the station and points in Thousand Oaks, including the transportation center, Oaks Shopping Center and California Lutheran University, according to a Metrolink press release.

Metrolink riders can transfer to the shuttle at no additional cost by presenting a valid Metrolink ticket upon boarding. Non-Metrolink riders can ride the shuttle for free through Aug. 16.

The weekday shuttle will operate a total six round trips during peak morning and evening commute times, and connect with most Metrolink trains providing service between Moorpark and Los Angeles Union Station, agency officials said.
