Metrolink to ax late-night service on two lines

advertisement

Metrolink has announced plans to cancel late-night commuter-rail service on its Antelope Valley and Ventura County lines due to low ridership.

The agency began operate the late trains on the two lines, as well as the San Bernardino Line, on March 31. Since then, less than 140 people have used the service on the Antelope Valley and Ventura County lines. More riders have used the San Bernardino late-night trains, and Metrolink now has included that service as part of its regular schedule.

The late-night service was funded through a grant awarded to the Los Angeles County Metropolitan Transportation Authority — one of the agencies that helps fund Metrolink service — by the Mobile Air Pollution Reduction Review Committee.
