Metrolink 'wraps' another car to boost weekend ridership

After experiencing record weekend ridership the weekend of Oct. 6, Metrolink has rolled out another "eye-catching," purple vinyl-wrapped rail car to promote a popular $10 weekend pass.

Since Metrolink introduced the $10 weekend pass program in July 2011, weekend ridership on the Los Angeles commuter-rail service has nearly doubled, agency officials said in a prepared statement.

The $10 weekend pass allows unlimited travel anytime systemwide from 7 p.m. Friday through Sunday.

The car is the fourth one Metrolink has wrapped with promotional materials.
