At least 23 people were killed and 65 people hospitalized last night when a railway overpass and Line 12 MetroCDMX train collapsed onto a busy street in Mexico City.

The overpass and train crushed cars on the road below. The incident happened around 10:30 p.m. local time near the Olivos Station, Reuters.com reported.

Security video, shared by Milenio TV on Twitter, showed the moment the bridge collapsed. Authorities suspended rescue efforts shortly after they began, saying there was a risk that more train parts and debris could fall onto the road, according to Reuters.

Emergency crews are working at the scene today, according to Mexican news and government sources on Twitter. Mexico City Mayor Claudia Sheinbaum said a full investigation will be carried out into the causes of the incident.
