Denver’s Regional Transportation District plans April 6 to open its C Line — or Central Platte Valley — extension with a public celebration including all-day free rides on the light-rail system.
The 1.8-mile extension, which travels through Central Platte Valley, adds four stations to the route: Auraria West Campus, Invesco Field at Mile High, Pepsi Center/Six Flags Elitch Gardens and Union Station: Lower Downtown (Lo/Do)/Coors Field/16th St. Mall.
In all, the C Line has 12 stations and runs 13 miles, from Mineral to Union Station. Construction, which began in Feb. 2001, was funded through a public/private partnership.
