Mineta names Jamison FTA deputy administrator

U.S. Transportation Secretary Norman Mineta May 29 named Robert Jamison Federal Transit Administration deputy administrator.
Jamison most recently served American Red Cross, first as operations manager from 1997 to 1999, then as senior operations officer. Prior experience includes a 13-year stint at United Parcel Service where his responsibilities included supervising operations, overseeing foreign operational infrastructure investment, and managing systems and infrastructure for the Washington, D.C., metropolitan area.
In his new post, Jamison will lead the operations of the 170-person, 10-region field staff that administers FTA’s $6 billion federal transit assistance program and guide the investment of its $4.5 billion capital construction project budget.
