The Societe de transport de Montreal (STM) is launching a workforce recruitment campaign this week as part of an effort to hire several hundred employees by 2020.

The employees will play a "key role" in implementing STM's major mobility projects and operating its rail and bus networks, agency officials said in a press release.

STM plans to spend CA$3.5 billion on major projects over the next three years. They include the Montreal Metro's Blue Line subway extension, electrification of the surface network and construction of new transportation infrastructure.

"For the [agency] to ensure the growth of the Montreal transit network and compensate for expected retirements, numerous positions will need to be filled across all company departments," said STM officials.

A microsite, available at stmemplois.com, will allow interested candidates to view the list of available positions and upload their application.
