North Carolina Department of Transportation's Public Transportation Division is accepting applications for the Urban Advanced Technology program until March 4.
The program provides funding for urban and regional transit systems that use technology or want to embark on technology projects designed to improve operations and riders’ transit experience. Focus for this year's grants include vehicle safety and security, integration of automatic vehicle location with the state’s 511 Traveler Information System, as well as completion of projects under way.
Funding will be available July 1 for the new fiscal year.
