New Jersey Transit has taken steps to increase its multi-media presence by expanding its Departurevision service and adding a Developer Resources section to its website.

Departurevision, a program that enables riders to view train departure screens showing departure time, train status and track assignment from a computer or web-enabled mobile device, has been expanded to include New York Penn Station and Hoboken Terminal.

Multi-media access now is available for all rail stations, NJ Transit officials said in a prepared statement.

In addition, the agency has launched the Developer Resources section of its website, which enables third-party developers to access service data for use in creating new trip-planning applications. The section is designed to encourage the use of train schedule data to improve customer access to information through new applications, including mobile and desktop applications, and widgets, agency officials said.
