Rail News: Passenger Rail
Last week, New Jersey Transit began adjusting train schedules to shorten connection times at its new Secaucus Junction, as well as improve New York-bound commutes, and provide better local and express service on the Northeast Corridor.
The agency reduced a 14-minute gap between Secaucus Junction and New York, and cut a 17-minute connection time to seven minutes on the Pascack Valley Line. NJ Transit also improved connection times on the Main and Bergen County lines, and added express service and seats on the Eastbound Northeast Corridor train.
The Atlantic City, North Jersey Coast and Raritan Valley lines were not affected.
