New Jersey Transit continues to advance a transit-oriented development (TOD) project at Metropark Station in Woodbridge.

The agency has released a request for proposals to the four finalists who successfully submitted responses to a previous request for statements of qualifications and expressions of interest.

In 2020, NJ Transit solicited interest in developing 12 acres directly adjacent to the Metropark Station on the Northeast Corridor Line, one of the busiest rail and bus stations in the agency's system.

Facilitating the development of TODs is one of five goals in NJ Transit’s 10-year strategic plan, through which the agency aims to promote a more sustainable future through the development of walkable communities, adaptive reuses of property to maximize value and significant emission reductions by 2030.
