New Jersey Transit will create a video campaign to make passengers with mobility challenges aware of the accessibility accommodations available on its commuter- and light-rail services.
NJ Transit was awarded a $60,600 Access and Mobility Partnership Grant from the Federal Transit Administration to complete the campaign. The agency will add $17,400 for a total project cost of $78,000, according to a NJ Transit press release.
The campaign will be directed at passengers who are older, have a low-income, have disabilities or are military veterans. NJ Transit will produce up to eight short-form videos that focus on accessibility enhancements the agency has made over the past 20 years.
Each video will be available on the NJ Transit website and its social media platforms, and will be shown at training and outreach programs held across the state.
