On March 13, New Jersey Transit will begin conducting public hearings to discuss the Draft Environmental Impact Statement for the Access to the Region’s Core project.

The hearings will include informational displays and presentations, as well as a public comment period. Later this month, NJ Transit also will hold two informational sessions in New York’s Rockland and Orange counties to present the environmental report to people who are unable to attend one of the three public hearings.

The $7.5 billion project includes two new Trans-Hudson Express tunnels under the Hudson River to a new station below 34th Street in Manhattan that will connect with Penn Station.

For more information on the Access to the Region’s Core project, see the March issue of Progressive Railroading.
