NJ Transit to upgrade Somerville Station
advertisement
This spring, New Jersey Transit will begin reconstructing Somerville Station on the Raritan Valley Line.
The $15.3 million project calls for constructing two new 710-foot high-level platforms with canopies, two new elevator cabs, a climate-controlled inbound waiting room with ticket office and restrooms, heated platform shelters, ramps, stairs and a head house for the pedestrian tunnel entrance.
Expected to be complete by 2010's end, the project is part of NJ Transit's ongoing program to make ADA-related upgrades at 35 commuter-rail stations.
