NYC Transit inks deal for asset-management software

New York City Transit April 9 entered into an $11 million basic ordering agreement with Spear Technologies that allows NYCT to implement over several years Spear 2000™ Enterprise Asset Management software throughout the agency.
Although NYCT already implemented Spear 2000 in its bus and car-equipment departments, and central electronics shop, the agency plans to install the software for its station operations, telecommunications, bus facilities, and maintenance of way, including track, signals, infrastructure and electrical systems. NYCT also plans to maintain MetroCard ticket vending machines using Spear 2000.
