NYCT awards station-rehab design contract
advertisement
New York City Transit (NYCT) recently awarded a contract to Vollmer and Associates to design the $25.7 million IND line subway station rehabilitation.
Located at 50th Street and Eighth Avenue, the station will be reconstructed, including re-opening existing street entrances and stairs to improve accessibility and security, installing new signage and finishes, and re-integrating the station design with privately developed portions of the adjoining Worldwide Plaza.
Vollmer also would recommend options to make the northbound side of the facility ADA accessible.
The project is scheduled to be complete in 2009.
