NYCT to rehab five Pelham 6 line stations
advertisement
MTA New York City Transit (NYCT) is beginning the next phase of an $89 million station reconstruction project on the Pelham 6 line. The agency will rehabilitate the Whitlock Avenue, Elder Avenue, Morrison Avenue-Soundview, St. Lawrence Avenue and Parkchester stations.
To be completed by September, the projects call for replacing mezzanines, canopy roofs, track beds and public-address systems; installing fluorescent lighting; and upgrading electrical systems.
NYCT will close each station — except Parkchester — for seven months to complete the work. Parkchester Station’s northbound and southbound platforms will be closed for three months.
