NYCT to reopen Cathedral Parkway Station over Labor Day weekend

MTA New York City Transit's (NYCT) Cathedral Parkway-110th Street subway station in Manhattan will reopen over the Labor Day weekend following structural repairs.

The repair effort, which lasted less than five months, was completed on time and on budget, agency officials said in a press release. The project included functional improvements to the station's steel and concrete structure, mezzanine, walls, stairs and platforms.

Southbound service will resume on Sept. 2, and service in both directions will return Sept. 4.

NYCT closed the station in April to give crews "unfettered and secure access" to station and track areas that required demolition and reconstruction, agency officials said.

Each weekday, more than 7,500 riders use the Cathedral Parkway-110th Street station, which opened for service in September 1932. B and C line trains serve the station.
