Ridership on Regional Transportation Authority's (RTA) Music City Star service reached a record 1,339 riders on Feb. 9 in Nashville, Tenn.
Ridership on the regional train has steadily grown, RTA officials said in a prepared statement. In 2010, ridership increased to a record 210,196 riders, up 16 percent from 180,673 in 2009.
"More people are seeking other alternatives to driving their personal vehicles, and they are quickly realizing the many benefits that public transit offers to them," said RTA Chief Executive Officer Paul Ballard.
