New Mexico's Rail Runner to implement zone-based fare structure

advertisement

Now that the entire first phase of the New Mexico Rail Runner Express is open, the New Mexico Department of Transportation and Mid-Region Council of Governments will drop introductory fares and implement a zone-based fare structure.

Beginning April 1, passengers will pay a fare based on distance traveled. All nine stations along the Bernalillo-to-Belen corridor have been subdivided into zones. One-way fares for traveling one zone will be $1; two zones, $2; and three zones, $3. Monthly passes will cost $35, $50 and $65 for zones one, two and three, respectively.
