advertisement
Last week, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey (PANYNJ) signed off on plans to advance a couple of passenger-rail projects.
The board authorized $5.7 million for planning and design services to upgrade and expand the Port Authority Trans-Hudson’s Harrison Rail Station.
In addition, the authority entered into an agreement with the Metropolitan Transportation Authority to participate in a West-of-Hudson Regional Transit Access Study. PANYNJ will provide up to $2.7 million to examine ridership growth on MTA Metro-North Railroad’s Port Jervis commuter-rail line and develop transit options to serve Stewart International Airport.
