New York/New Jersey port authority's board OKs rail car purchase, WTC contracts

Yesterday, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey’s board authorized a $15 million option under the Port Authority Trans Hudson (PATH) rail car procurement contract with Kawasaki Rail Car Inc. to purchase 10 additional rail cars.
In addition, the board authorized a construction trade contract for the World Trade Center Transportation Hub project for elevators and escalators for the PATH Hall and Transit Hall. The board also authorized a trade contract with R. Baker & Sons All Industrial Services Inc. for wall demolition work in the World Trade Center Transit Hub’s East Bathtub to prepare for pedestrian corridors that will link the Transit Hall to the Metropolitan Transportation Authority’s Fulton Street Station.
